Frère {{Hilaire DETRAZ,}} né en 1902 en Savoie entra jeune chez les Frères Maristes. Après sa formation il s'expatria comme beaucoup de Frères français de l'époque.

Il fut affecté à l'école des Frères de {{Monastir}} (aujourd'hui Bitolj) en République de Macédoine qui, à l'époque, faisait partie de la {{Yougoslavie}}. Quand l'école de Monastir fut fermée il continua son enseignement à l'école des Frères de {{Belgrade}} en Serbie.
Chassé de Yougoslavie comme les autres Français en 1941 par la guerre il poursuivit sa carrière en France.
_ Retiré à {{Varennes-sur-Allier}} il écrivit ses mémoires en {{1980}}.
Ses «{{mémoires}}» n'ont jamais été édités. Dommage!
