Puis me voilà dans ma voiture, seul pendant quarante-cinq minutes. Parfois, je me dis que si je conduisais dans le silence le plus absolu, sans brancher mon téléphone portable, sans allumer la radio, je pourrais profiter de quarante-cinq minutes de méditation quotidienne, dans un isolement et un calme inespérés.
Je me plains d'avoir une vie trop rapide, trop remplie, trop stressante, dans laquelle je n'ai pas l'occasion de réfléchir, de me poser, de m'ennuyer. Je cours derrière les problèmes, les objectifs, les soucis, les gens... et ils m'échappent. Je vais de rendez-vous en rendez-vous comme si je sautais des haies, je m'essouffle, je m'excite inutilement. Je rêve parfois de prendre une année sabbatique, ou de partir en vacances, ou d'envoyer tout balader.
Mais chaque jour, quand l'occasion se présente de m'isoler dans une tranche de sérénité, je trouve mille excuses pour ne pas le faire : je me précipite sur mon téléphone portable pour y découvrir mes derniers messages, comme s'ils avaient la moindre chance d'être importants, et, si je n'ai «aucun nouveau message», je zappe compulsivement sur mes stations de radio favorites, pour grappiller les premières infos du jour, qui n'ont généralement pas d'intérêt.
