Puis j'entends le grondement de l'émotion s'éloigner en moi. Je respire mieux. Je suis rasséréné. Comme un môme qui vient de se réconcilier avec sa mère. J'avale ma salive salée. Cette impression d'avoir pleuré me rappelle mon enfance. D'ailleurs, je me sens minuscule, tout d'un coup.

Je suis un imposteur: on voit dans ma grande carcasse la représentation d'un homme accompli, tandis que je suis un petit garçon émotif. Inhibé, même. Voici un mot qui me déshabille en un clin d'œil. Inhibé... ce que je suis. Incapable d'accepter mes émotions, de les apprécier, de les apprivoiser. Elles m'impressionnent.
Je suis heureux de ce qui vient de m'arriver, mais content que ce soit terminé. L'idée de ne pouvoir me contrôler me terrifie. Je ne veux jamais lâcher prise et me laisser aller sans savoir où cela pourrait me mener. Je bloque toutes les issues de ma forteresse personnelle, je retiens tout phénomène incontrôlable, et cela me rassure. Je suis mon propre policier.
Mais, cette fois-ci, l'émeute n'a pu être contenue. Mes forces de l'ordre ont été dépassées. Pour quelle conséquence ? Aucune. Voici la découverte : je n'ai été ni terrassé, ni blessé, ni tué. J'ai juste été bousculé, ébouriffé, et je me suis retrouvé par terre, les quatre fers en l'air. Et ça m'a fait du bien. Je me sens mieux, dépoussiéré, propre, neuf. Réveillé. Tout me semble plus net, plus savoureux, plus coloré. Comme si mes yeux s'étaient ouverts.
